Felting is an 8000-year-old craft that ties ancient times with the present. Legend has it that it was first discovered by the Sumer civilizations. It was also one of the first techniques used to transform fibers into cloth.
There are two ways to make felt. In this workshop, you’ll learn the dry needle felting method. Using special needles, you’ll feel like a sculptor handcrafting your masterpiece – a felted picture of Riga. You can frame it and use it to decorate your home or give it to a friend as a gift.
Needle felting, the atmosphere of the creative Spiker quarter, sipping coffee in breaks, and discussing life in Latvia will have a peaceful effect on your mind and nerves.
